Tulloch Castle Hotel

We booked the Mackenzie family Apartment for my family of 4 and the Oak Room for our parents as an anniversary present. Despite staying for 2 nights, the only regret is not having enough time to enjoy our rooms and the grounds and history more. We were glad to get escorted to our room because the Mackenzie Apartment is in the back through the dining room and up a private spiral staircase. We were very thankful for the tip to use the back door for our bags so we didnt have to drag them through the dining room. We were floored by how large the place was considering it was in a castle, not an airbnb. There were multiple rooms, and the kids had their own bathroom. It would have been nice to have more coffee and tea in the room though. The water in the tub was inconsistent, but that was to be expected in such an old building. We were worried about all the hard wood and the kids being loud trying to find them in the apartment. However it turns out we had that entire wing to ourselves and it was laundry and storage below us. Our parents' room (the Oak Room) was amazing! We especially loved the reading closet that was hidden in there. Breakfast was nice.

Genuine friendly staff. Consistent high-quality food with very experienced chefs and reasonably priced. The front of house manager at reception has been there seven years which says a lot.! highly recommend

A wonderful, cozy stay in a piece of history! We booked the christmas package and ​had a fantastic stay at the castle. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and truly made us feel at home. For a building dating back to 12th-century , it has been updated perfectly—you get the historic atmosphere alongside modern essentials like brand-new bathrooms and USB plugs. ​The food was fabulous, with a delicious three-course meal served at every sitting. We also loved the cozy bar area for a relaxing drink. Our bedroom was even larger than expected and stayed super warm throughout our stay. While it’s a historic castle rather than a "luxury" modern hotel, it was well worth the price and had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Just returned from a 3 day Christmas package. WOW!!!! Staff are wonderful. We had a 4 poster bed room. This was huge. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom with bath and separate shower. Wonderful hot water. The food was amazing from the multichoice breakfast right up to the wonderful dinners. Drinks very reasonably priced. Good wine selection and a few great beers. Would definitely recommend staying here.

I came to this place on a wonderful weekend getaway 2 night package. Quite a deal-- it included 2 breakfasts and one dinner of their excellent cooking. The hot food for breakfast is freshly made to order. The castle is enchanting, the rooms are nice with a chair and tea table, and the staff and service couldn't be better. It's a 20-25 minute walk downhill to the town of Dingwall and there are some beautiful cottage gardens along the way. Behind the castle are farms and forest with a fairly level path/ unpaved road where one can walk quite a long way. The bar is named after the resident ghost, the Green Lady.

Beautiful castle/ hotel. Staff were very friendly from the moment we arrived. Room was gorgeous, very clean and well appointed. We ran into the Chef in the hallway and he went out of his way and took us on a tour of the castle which we really appreciated. Food was fantastic. Would highly recommend this venue and will definitely return

This hotel is a good value, if you temper expectations and remember that it is a CASTLE. An ancient, drafty, pile of stone. Suburbia has grown up to the bounds of the castle. It is not a super rural setting. There were no gardens or grounds to be found. Maybe if I had paid for the ghost tour, something would have revealed itself. There are no lifts. All of the rooms are up stairs, and most of them on the third floor. The radiators are hit or miss (mostly miss), but my room had a separate electric heater. The water pressure is non-existent and for two out of three showers, the water barely got warm (4am and 5pm. The shower at 6am was plenty hot, but still very little water). All of that said, the staff were amazing and kind and helpful. The full Scottish Breakfast was good, but the two meals I had at the bar were overcooked and burned. (Also, who serves burned falafel in a broken pita and with no sauce at all?). Prices seemed high, but I’m not sure what food costs are in Dingwall. The price was worth it, though and it was a good base for driving north on the NC500 and also reasonable for a shopping trip into Inverness. Just be aware of what it is and what it is not. Bespoke certainly seems a misnomer.

Lovely hotel for a stopover. Paul was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the castle, which was refreshing. Nice bar and staff with good pub grub, with an option for fine dining. Very dog-friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again if in the area. The room was spacious and clean, keeping the castle feel with a four-poster bed, along with a good bathroom and walk-out balcony.
